Our client came to us with a very interesting brief: “How to provide enough storage for all their existing toy collections and future storage for MORE toys in their small new apartment?”

We decided to take the idea of a “toy box” as an inspiration for the design of the apartment, a common storage chest for your toys.

Imagine unfolding a box into various surfaces, which are hidden storage spaces. Furniture is subtly inserted into the niches formed by the unfolded box with a mirror backing that creates an illusion of a space beyond. The study room is where the key toys are kept, with expressed display boxes that highlight the toys. Even the daybed is covered with a LEGO baseplate allowing war scenarios of the owner’s star trek toys to be set. The same baseplate is designed as the “pin up board” for the couple in the study room.
