We explored a palette of warm marble and dark timber with a touch of brass to create an understated luxurious space bathed in a warm gentle glow.
Responding to the irregularly shaped façade, we designed furniture with gentle curves, creating a dialogue between the interior design and the architecture. A long sculptural table with expressive curves anchors the space firmly through its solid base, while balanced by a counterpoint of outstretched cantilever. Using wave-pleat sheer curtains to soften the warm glow from the windows, the boundary between the odd-shaped external wall and the interior space is blurred.
A curvilinear storage wall responds to the façade, and is accented by brass recesses. Brass accents tie in the various elements in the apartment, from the living room to the bedrooms.
A book-matched marble wall occupies centre-stage of the living room in a restrained display of luxury, with the TV and console sensitively and deliberately kept asymmetrical to not outshine the backdrop. Framing the marble wall is a pair of walnut panels concealing bedroom doors, each with linear brass highlights that echo the rhythm of the wave-pleat curtains.
The low TV console, with its own rhythmic grooves and a horizontal band of brass, unifies the feature wall and continues the design dialogue with its curvilinear form. The graphical detail of the brass highlight accentuates the reflectivity of the polished marble floor, a subtle touch of luxury.
The master bedroom is coherently finished in the same palette of walnut and brass, enveloping the residents in the same warm gentle glow.
