The corner terrace was intended as a holiday home in Johore Bahru, the client came to us with a simple brief. They wanted a space for BBQ, a big family hang out area, an outdoor sheltered chill-out area.

“Can all these be achieved in a single design element?”

The indoor dining area is designed to be an extended space of the pavilion dining area. Using the same timber floor material together with the same long table that stretches out from indoors to outdoors. With the sliding doors open, the SUPER LONG TABLE allows a huge family gathering with a counter for BBQ at the end of the pavilion. The structure of the pavilion roof is intentionally continued into the house, integrated with the lighting fixtures and dry kitchen cabinets. The same structure is also an “infrastructure” for future expansions of cabinets or additional shelving.
