about
We name our project, “The Art Mountain” as it is a space that seeks to counter the forbidding nature of many art institutions by being open and accessible to visitors through the form of the building.
The concept is linked to the culture, geography, and context of the site. The interlocking sloped roof forms draws from traditional Korean building and the analogy of mountainous terrain in the area. These sloped terraces of the Art Centre and the Yeonja-ru are public and encourage visitors to explore the inside and outside at the same time.
